The impressionist painter Pissaro, unknown from the parisian people, in the shadow of Monet and Cézanne is however considerated as « the first of the impressionist ». He is also the only one that participated to their eight exhibitions. He started to paint in the island before settling down in France and turned to landscape’s painting. His exotism and his choice of color makes his canvas unique ones. He has been considerated by Zola as one of the « three or four painters of this time ».The last time the paintings of Pissaro were exposed was in 1981, it was more than thirty six years ago. More than sixty canvas will be exposed from the 23rd of February, a do not miss exhibition which relate his life from the impressionist time, his youth in the Danish West Indies until his big series of urban areas of Paris, Rouen or Le Havre.
